The variable valve timing technology was first developed by the Fiat in the 1960s, but the technology was really promoted and well known from Honda's application of VTEC technology in 1983. The earliest VTEC technology was applied to Honda's REV motorcycle engine, just because of this technology that the vehicle fuel economy and power have a better combination.
